Returning to blogging
I just finished watching Eating Our Way to Extinction (2021), available on Amazon Prime. It is an outstanding documentary, professionally done with beautiful cinemaphotography and a clear presentation. The main message is that the meat, chicken, and fish industries are polluting the planet (shockingly, and perhaps surprisingly so, to most of us) to a greater extent than fossil fuel production. Watch this and hear and see the evidence. It might change your life.
However, one thing they are silent about is the fact that there are far too many people on the planet. This is the sacred cow in the living room that almost everyone is afraid to talk about. This is the truth that cannot be said.
Why?
First of all, capitalism depends on a growing population; indeed, it can be said that capitalism is a Ponzi scheme on the future that would collapse if we had shrinking populations, and indeed will collapse even before our numbers overwhelm the ability of the planet to support us.
Secondly, most religious organizations, especially the Catholic Church and Islam, e.g., would go after any film maker who dared to express this fundamental truth that there are too many people on the planet. Certainly, no politician would dare voice such an opinion.
Yes, I repeat myself. Indeed, if I were young and strong and had the ability, I would make it a major task of my life to educate people on the need to drastically reduce our numbers. I hope there are young people throughout the world that understand this and will step up and do what needs to be done.
And what is that? I have been thinking about this problem for years. I will present what I think is the way to do it when I get it all together. I would like to hear from others on how they think it can be done. Certainly, allowing women to take charge of their bodies is a step in the right direction. And dare I say it? Assisted suicide (with counseling) should be available to all adults. And of course, killing people who want to stay alive to reduce populations is out of the question.

I've changed blog sites
My blog is now at http://www.dennislittrell.com/
It's new and improved, but I'm still working on exactly what I want to focus on as well as working out the kinks along the blog learning curve.
Dennis I am thinking of closing down the above blog and transferring everything to this Google blog. I see how it works out.
